Frequently asked questions
1 . Can you give me a one minute drive through your site?

You will find here sales evidence of every residential property sold in Scotland since 1989.  Locate the property(ies) you are interested in with our flexible and user friendly search routines and pay on-line before the sale price of the property(ies) and all other information is revealed.  Please note that the £3.00 min charge applies per session, you cannot part-complete a session and come back for more searches.

You may:

1. view the results on-line (HTML screen), or

2. download and store on your computer a PDF file if you want to print (you are advised to create a folder to store these reports), or

3. re-visit the site any time in the future and from any location to obtain the same reports without additional payment by simply selecting Completed Shopping Carts(s) after you login.

You may not:

obtain credit for your searches. Once the minimum payment has been made, you cannot come back to obtain remaining records. This is because we do not keep your card details on our servers.

11 . How secure is World Pay?
World Pay uses state of the art security tools and techniques, both proprietary and unique, to ensure that the services/goods provider and the shopper are protected against what is nowadays a virtually non-existent risk.  WorldPay’s systems also have in-built system redundancy and fault tolerance, designed to provide a virtually uninterrupted 24/7 service (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).  WorldPay’s systems have evolved over many years and throughout their history they have continuously sought and gained bank approval for their systems.

12 . If the shopper keys in their card details at home or in the office, surely they are not encrypted until after they arrive at the WorldPay system?
Using industry standard SSL, Thawte and WorldPay unique encryption systems, this is not actually the case.  When you fill in the payment form and you click the Proceed>> button, your details will not be sent straight away.  What actually happens is that a secure link is set up between the shopper’s browser and WorldPay and an encryption code is requested and received, which then wraps the order and transaction details before leaving the shopper’s premises.

4 . What is on offer under Additional Reports?

We publish a Statistical Bulletin on a quarterly basis that is the most authoritative publication of its kind, drawing its data from our 100% sample of residential transactions, providing the most comprehensive analysis of the housing market. It will identify Scotland's strongest price growth areas, together with recent and historical trends.  The cost of each of these quarterly bulletins is £30.00.

At regular and frequent intervals, we also place on-line reports which show the average prices and number of residential sales in selected towns or neighbourhoods, from January 1990 to date, at £5.00 each.  These reports have either been designed by ourselves or have been requested by our users.
